You can place a hold on books, DVDs or other items at the Library, to ensure that it's available for you. We'll retrieve the item from the shelf and hold it until you come to pick it up.

To place a hold by phone:

  • Call the Library Service Desk at 716-286-8020

To place a hold online:

  • Start at the library homepage: https://library.niagara.edu/
  • Click on Library Catalog, which will open in a new tab.
  • Search for the item you want, then look through the results. Click on a title to go to the item's page.
  • Click the Place Hold button.
  • Enter your "Patron ID" (barcode number on your ID card) and your PIN (4-digit number you chose when registering with the library).
  • If you don't remember your PIN, see this page: What is my PIN?

If you're still having trouble logging into the catalog to place your hold, call the Library Service Desk at 716-286-8020 and we'll place the hold for you.
