  • You can search for a book (or DVD or other physical item) through the library catalog.
  • Start at the library homepage at https://library.niagara.edu.
  • Then click on the Books & DVDs link.

  • This will take you to the Advanced Search page, where you can enter a title, author, or keywords about the item. Then click the Search button.
  • Look at the list of results and click on a title.

  • On the book info page, scroll down to Holding Details. Make sure it is listed as "Available."

  • Note the Call number, which you'll use to find the book.
  • Either show the call number to a member of library staff who can get the book for you, or check the Materials Directory on our website to see where each call number is located.

If the book is not in the catalog:

If the book is not in the catalog or eBook Central:

  • You can request the book through Interlibrary Loan. This is a service where we contact another library that does have the book. They send us a copy in the mail, which we then loan to you.
  • Go to the library homepage at https://library.niagara.edu and click on Interlibrary Loan, which is under "Quick Links" on the right.

  • If this is your first time using Interlibrary loan, click Create an Account.

  • Once you are logged in, click the Create Request button
  • For the type of request, click Book.

  • You will receive an automated email once your book has arrived, and you can come to the library to pick it up.
